Seeking admission to a coaching center may not be every students need but has become fashionable. That apart, the one advantage of seeking admission is that it affords an opportunity to interact with other aspirants. This helps you to make a self –analysis of the position you are as in your preparation. Moreover one gets inspired and goaded into better performance. One cannot compromise with lesser brilliance than the best in the group. The most important thing about a coaching center is its faculty. The teacher should not only be knowledgeable but should be able to communicate effectively. Understanding a subject /topic is one thing making the other person understand the same is another. It require a width of imagination so when you choose a center, first of all make discreet inquiry about the faculty. It will not end with knowing the qualification and experience. Even results of the institutions, in terms of student who qualified the entrance test of various examinations, need not tempt you unless, of course, they are consistently bright over a number of years.
Once you finally decided to join a center and pay a prince’s ransom by way of fees, make it a point that:-
- You achieve the conceptual clarity of the fundamentals. In the absence of this, things will not proceed smoothly. And for this, seek answers to your questions arising out of doubts, even if they appear to bee trivial or irrelevant.
- Take every mock test and keep on making self assessment. Do not create illusions but face reality as it gets revealed. You must have command over what you are supposed to know.
- The coaching being crucial to the entrance test, adopt the following principle set out by an English poet and follow it religiously:-
“ Act, Act that each tomorrow May find you farther than today”
Adopted as a theme song of life, it will pay rich dividends in all phase of life. And once owned, it becomes a constituent of one’s personality. It does not become monotonous.
Other things which one should look for in a coaching center are the library, seating arrangement, ventilation and an ambiance conducive to studies. But be very selective, careful cautious with respect to the quality of facility.
